23rd June 2017 [Sometimes things go wrong at all jewellers. A client at our Chester store had bought a diamond and sapphire ring which turned out to have a fault. The manager chose to have it completely remade and after the client had collected it he followed up, to ask if they were happy] : “We are! Having had another look when we were home, it is very impressive how close they have made it to the original. Thank you once again for your efforts. While the situation was not ideal your diligence has made it a lot easier for us and is much appreciated.”

We purchased a ladies 2005 Rolex from there on Saturday 10th September and we were looked after by Alan, the store manager. His knowledge of the Rolex brand was extensive, and the way he presented the choices to us was a pleasure. I really felt like we were purchasing a 20 grand Rolex, not a 4 grand second hand. Your service does you credit and I shall be rewarding the service by looking out for a similar year, Mens 36mm with the Jubilee bracelet in either Steel and white gold or yellow gold, and do not intend to go elsewhere. 27th July 2016 : “I visited Miltons, Chester recently to sell a considerable amount of gold and received the most professional and polite service from Keiran and Mark. There was a large amount of jewellery to sort out and not once did I feel it was a burdon to them, as it did take a considerable time. After visiting a couple of local jewellers afterwards, I really wouldnt go anywhere else in Chester as I felt they were completely trustworthy and competent with what they advised me and in view of our circumstances, Keiran was extremely respectful and courteous of how he dealt with our transaction.”
June 2016 : Miltons of St. John’s shopping centre is one of only 17 businesses to achieve 100% in Liverpool’s 2016 Mystery Shop Survey — out of 200 visited in the city centre! The officially “Outstanding” result is all the more remarkable as the store has achieved it for two years running and at least four times in the seven years the survey has been run.

After searching online for a vintage ring I finally found the one I was interested in. Alan Lxxxxx was really friendly and helpful when I needed information about the ring and payment. I left after paying a deposit, safe in the knowledge that, upon my return the ring would be resized and ready to go. I returned a month later and Alan remembered exactly who I was and my background story and I was even sent away with a bottle of champagne! A most unexpected surprise. Anyway, not to babble on for too long but I felt compelled to leave feedback because I appreciate that it’s the little touches (friendly, positive attitude) and great customer service that make all the difference to your shopping experience. I did buy what for me was a very expensive watch; so a job well done by Mr L. I chose Miltons to deal with because of Heywood Milton. I have read a number of his threads and responses on the TZ watch forum and was impressed by his open approach and willingness to help. Did I get the bargain of a lifetime? No, but I do think I got a fair deal from a reputable and knowledgeable source that will be around in the future should anything go wrong. Unlikely in my opinion but you never know. Thank you to all who helped a bloke who looked as though he should have been on a lakeland fellside ( and I am being kind with that description ) rather than in the centre of a cosmopolitan city like Liverpool. Our assistant was extremely pleasant and helpful without us feeling pressurised. After selecting several rings to try the assistant also brought us other suitable rings. After choosing one it was re-sized for me and available to collect in a couple of hours.

May 2015 : Miltons (Liverpool) Ltd in St.John’s Centre and S.S.Milton Ltd in Church Street, Liverpool receive outstanding results of 100% and 99% respectively in the Liverpool Business Improvement District 2015 mystery shopping exercise. This is the third time that the St.John’s store has earned 100%, having also won the ultimate “Store of the Year” award previously.

30th April 2015 : “Hi, I just wanted to write to say thank you for all of the help I received at the Milton’s shop in Church Street, Liverpool last Saturday (25th April) . . .
When I visited your shop, I immediately felt better, the staff were really lovely, especially Laura who was really informative, explaining the different cut, clarity and colour of the rings which explained why some were more expensive than others, even though they might have looked much the same. She was never pushy, advising us to go and check other shops to see if there was something we liked more. I explained that we were looking in the price range of about £2000.00 and Laura showed us a great selection of rings but the band of the ring I really liked – a pear shaped diamond – was very small so Laura got us a price to resize and recover with 18ct gold instead of the 14ct of the original band, the cost of which was £100 and which Laura then explained that Miltons would be happy to pay.
We did go and look at some other rings as Laura suggested (she put the ring and instructions for alterations to one side for us while we looked) but none of them came anywhere near the ring I had seen at Miltons and I also found the other shops (Goldsmiths, Beaverbrooks) quite soulless and didn’t like the idea of having a ring the same as lots of other people so I returned to Miltons to buy the gorgeous pear shaped diamond ring we’d looked at previously.
Laura was on her break but we were served by a lovely lady who’s name we didn’t get but she had worked there for 35 years and was also really friendly and informative, she even tried to rush the alterations along so that we could pick the ring up the same day! The icing on the cake was that as we were leaving, we were given a bottle of wine by the staff to celebrate our “re-engagement” which was a lovely touch and was a lovely end to a great shopping experience!
I would be really grateful if you could pass on our thanks to the Laura and all of the staff and I will be recommending Milton’s to anyone on the hunt for a lovely piece of jewellery in friendly surroundings.

24th April 2015 (from a repeat pawnbroking client who had once again reclaimed his very expensive Rolex Submariner) : “I have my own business and it is great to know I can walk into Miltons at any time and within five minutes walk away with £10,000 to help my cash flow. If I went to my bank I would have to have an interview, then “be especially nice to the Bank Manager” [we paraphrase our customer’s less delicate description!] They would charge a £300 admin fee and there would be over £1,000 in interest. With Miltons over 1 month it cost me about £450. I am really pleased with the service.”

Phil Ellison at Milton’s was excellent. I got to try on the watches I needed, there was ZERO pressure, ZERO salesmanship just friendly interesting Rolex chat… I even tried on a completely out of proportion overly heavy Seadweller… in fact Phil was so blummin’ helpful I even tried on his watch! Anyway it got to the point where I was down to two watches… I couldn’t make my mind up and Phil said to take my time there’s plenty of watches out there and what I want will crop up at some point… I couldn’t take that sort of heavy sales pressure so had to get out of there and grab a coffee and some fresh air. Anyway with caffeine came cojones and so I went back… And bought…. The big ugly Seadweller! I really liked the Explorer ii but when I tried the Seadweller on it Just Looked Right. It’s like a Sub, but more… betterer. I didn’t even think it looked totally stupid on my twiglet like wrists! Had it for a couple of weeks now and can’t stop looking at it I’ve also had it on a NATO which looked amazing. I would like to reiterate how fab Phil was at Milton’s. I also had “the opportunity” to experience their aftersales service. All I would say is absolute first class service from both Phil and Haywood who was superb to deal with. This might sound like a Milton’s advert and so be it. They were that good.”

Haywood clearly has a hugh passion for all things Rolex and his excellent communication gave me the comfort to proceed with the purchase. I enquired about the watch on a weekend and Haywood immediately put it on hold for me pending transfer of funds. I then corresponded with both Phil and Paul who again are excellent to deal with and really know their stuff. I only have good things to say about the entire team at Miltons and would purchase another watch from them without hesitation. He does have a website which lists his company’s inventory but does NOT offer mail order service or specialised bespoke photography of individual pieces … (I know, because I have tried and asked before!!!) What he does offer is personal honest service with full authenticity guaranteed for all pieces – all pieces are either mint, RSC serviced, or carefully repolished by their dedicates watch makers (who have been described as – as good as RSC polishers, finishers)…. I would not hesitate on calling him, or viewing his website when I am looking for my next Rolex – he has sold me a Rolex 16200 Datejust, 116234 Datejust and 16610 SS Submariner Date without issue or concern.”
